I’m not going to go quite as in depth this month, as I’m already behind (whoops, sorry about that), but in general we have a lot of Mature content and not quite as much content that’s alright for kids.
Playstation Plus features one title at E 10+, which is OlliOlli World, a skateboarding game. There is also content that is rated Teen, but it’s one of the older expansions for Destiny 2, so I wouldn’t really consider it a “game” to be reviewed. I love Destiny 2 but I’d recommend you start playing for free to see if your kids like it. The other two games are Evil Dead and Mafia. Both pretty graphic and I would not recommend for anyone younger than 15-16.
Xbox Games with Gold is just 2 titles this month, For the King and Guts N Goals. As For the King is a tactical RPG and Guts n Goals is a soccer game, I would lean toward Guts N Goals for the younger audience. Not much else to say here.
Xbox Games Pass as always, has a wide selection of older games plus access to new releases. Hot Wheels Unleashed is back on the list, and it was available in December so I’m not sure if they took it off and brought it back? But this title is one I will always recommend for the kids. We have another racing game that should be ok as well, Grid Legends. If your kids are into sports, we have the tried and true Madden 23, and alternatively, if your kids are interested in simulator games, City Skylines. After that, most of the games are Teen or Mature. I will confirm I am definitely looking forward to Atomic Heart, but this is a fps that is reminiscent of Dishonored and Bioshock, and just as graphic. Darkest Dungeon would be a good choice if your RPG-playing teen likes fantasy, and SD Gundam Battle Alliance if they like robots/futuristic tech.
Honestly, not the best selection for kids this month. Might be worth skipping out on (but if you want games for you and you like shooters: Atomic Heart is looking pretty nice). Hopefully we’ll get a better spread next month. We do have some new games coming out that are more kid friendly but not on the Xbox systems. Better luck next month!
