Hey it’s the final month of 2022! Boy that went by way too fast. Anyways, here’s our selection for December. Looks like Playstation Plus starts us off with a new title by Hi-Rez studios, Divine Knockout, which looks like Smite meets Super Smash bros. Interesting. Followed up by two games that are very popular but might not be so kid friendly, Mass Effect Legendary Edition and Biomutant. Both are rpg style 3rd person games, but Mass Effect has pretty adult themes (not that it isn’t a good game, just not for the kiddos). Next up with Xbox Games with Gold we have Colt Canyon and Bladed Fury. Both are 2D based fighting games both rated Teen. Probably not what you want for kids under 12 as they both are rated for violence. Lastly we have the Xbox Games Pass titles. The big stand outs here for kids are Hello Neighbor 2 (listed for being family friendly horror), Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (hey we reviewed this), Hot Wheels Unleashed: Game of the Year Edition (hey…we reviewed this too) and Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan (very cute looking 2.5D platformer) [these are all in the E or E10 category]. Also I haven’t seen much on Potion Craft but if your child likes the crafting/exploration games this might be one to check out too. There are also some Teen titles that might be worth checking out for the older kids, like Eastward (action adventure roleplaying) and Metal Hellsinger (I personally own this, as it is a mix of Doom and a rhythm based game; very good but a little graphic). As a final note, High On Life is the game being released by the creators of Rick and Morty, so it will probably be hilarious but absolutely too graphic for your kids. (Honestly I kinda want to get it.)

Well at this point it seems like Xbox Games Pass is getting access to a lot of new and popular games, but there will always be titles that won’t be a fit for your kids. Not sure if we will see a lot of selection from the Xbox Games with Gold anymore which is unfortunate, but we can hope for better selection next month. Playstation Plus does have 2 strong titles for older teens and adults, so let’s see what they give us next month. Next post will be in 2023! Until then, have a great holiday with your family and don’t forget to check out all our reviews from this year to figure out what to get for your kids!
